Window Installation
At some point of time in a windows life-cycle a replacement window becomes a viable and less expensive alternative to retaining the old one. Installing replacement windows or a new window installation is easy if you know the rough size of the window. You can get this from the manufacturer and the size is usually a few inches more than the size of the old window itself. But this does not apply if you’re planning to install a new window installation and the window is an egress window.
It is easier for you to replace a window if you leave your old frame in place. But this would mean that you have to use the same size when you’re buying your replacement window. The advantage is that you have the choice of newer and better materials when you choose a replacement window. Just measure your old window and order a replacement window of the same size and shape. This will save you a lot of pain and money too in the bargain.
It makes more sense to hire a Rochester area professional to get your new window installation done as it does involve quite a bit of work. If you possess advanced DIY skills, you could probably try this on your own and save your self quite a packet in the process. I'm looking for an estimated price and order time for the following 15 windows. I'm looking for inexpensive double paned insulated vinyl windows. I have 10 which are going in rough, masonry openings (they are replacing old steel casement windows.) On these I need to know the size of the fins so I can buy my framing material. I also need at least 5 replacement windows.
